“I’m a Republican down to my boots. I went to a small high school in Anchorage with Mark Begich, Andy Josephson, Charles Wohlforth. I know what it’s like to do battle with the Democrats,” he said.
“Now, in this room there are some bitter hurts,” he said to a few hundred people gathered in the largest meeting hall of the Westmark Fairbanks. “My friends: let it go. Forgive one another and build a stronger party.”
